We asked Birmingham-area residents, What’s a positive you’ve taken from 2020 so far?

Kait Maurl: “We have a presidential election coming up this year, so the silver lining is . . . I’m hopeful everyone will get out and vote in November.”

Eula Weldon: “I haven’t seen much positive happening with the way the world is going now it just saddens me to see us going through the same things we went through in the past . . . I think the silver lining is that it’s not as bad as it was back then and I see a lot more people becoming unified instead of being divided.”

Sara Dodgen: “A positive has been community, especially with my friends and I, we’ve all come together and bonded over stuff that we struggle with. I’ve talked to a lot more people than ever, talking on the phone, texting and writing letters.”

Derek Wilson: “A lot of my friends and family are getting new jobs, buying new houses or their first house, getting accepted into college and different graduate programs . . . it just shows how God is always there… no matter what is going on around you, God will continue to keep you and your loved ones if you trust Him.”
