On Tuesday, 21 Birmingham high school graduates will be recognized at the Ed Foundation’s Second Annual Laptop Giveaway at Ramsay High School and will be provided with laptops for their commitment to success as they begin college, vocational training, military, or enter the workforce.
The Laptop Giveaway initiative was created in 2019 under the Graduate Local program as an opportunity to provide support and create connections for graduating high school students. The Birmingham Education Foundation’s (“Ed”) Junior Board of Directors works closely with Ed staff on this unique opportunity to further support and ensure students recognized reflect a diverse student population.
“We are so excited to play a small part in getting these students prepared for their next step after high school. They have worked so hard to get where they are, and we can’t wait to watch what they do,” said Mary Meadows Livingston, Junior Board of Directors Chair.
The event will take place honoring students through a drive-through celebration to ensure health safety and to reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19 for students and guests.
