HABD ‘Roaring 20’s’ Fundraiser raises $50,525 for high school seniors

Housing Authority of Birmingham District (HABD) employees this month raised $50,525 for public housing students who are high school seniors and plan to attend colleges or universities in the fall.

The Fourth Annual Naomi H. Truman Scholarship Foundation employee luncheon was held March 1 at the Concordia Beneficial Society in Birmingham. Employees last year donated $48,037 during the event which had a theme of “Harlem Nights Roaring 20’s”. Since 2016, employees have raised nearly $200,000 for public housing students.
