BUSINESSES IN THE BLACK – THE RISE OF BLACK BUSINESS IN AMERICA 1800’s – 1960’s, is a documentary film produced by ANTHONY BROGDON will show in Birmingham on Friday, 5:30 – 8 p.m. at the Tutwiler Hotel in the Tutwiler Bar and Grill in the Reserved Back Room. It is a Strong Production Project produced and directed by Anthony Brogdon with Hugh H. Hatten as Director of Photography. The film shares: how did slaves go to college, what racism did to destroy black business districts, names of black millionaires in the 1800’s, businesses and organizations, interviews with people whose families owned businesses in the early 1900’s and so much more. Moderator is Sheila Smoot – 98.7 Kiss FM/AM 610 WAGG/FM 100. The Birmingham Business Resource Center and Alabama Leadership Foundation will host the event.
