Brrrmingham presented by Viva Health returns Friday, November 23 for the third season of ice skating at Railroad Park.
The 50’ by 80’ rink will be on the brick surface of Railroad Park’s Regions Bank 17th Street Plaza. The rink will be open seven days a week through January 6, only closing on Christmas Day. Hours of operation for the rink are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
“This is our third year with a rink at Railroad Park, and we’re always awed by the transformation into a winter wonderland,” said Camille Spratling, Executive Director, Railroad Park Foundation.
“We are expanding the viewing platform this year to welcome more spectators. As always, it is free to visit Railroad Park and we encourage everyone to come enjoy the atmosphere. Particularly in the evening, the lights in the rink area create a truly magical space. One of our privileges at Railroad Park is to create memorable, quintessentially Birmingham experiences, and we’re thrilled to do that for those who come from near and far to ice skate.”
“Railroad Park is establishing quite a tradition for Birmingham with the ice rink, and Viva Health is proud to be a part of it,” said Dr. Tara Bryant, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Viva Health. “We are excited to partner with a group that supports not only Birmingham, but also active and health lifestyles. We are thrilled to see people from throughout the Birmingham area come together on the rink, with the cityscape as a backdrop.”
Ticket prices include skate rental, tax, and unlimited time on the ice. Children 12 and under are $10, adults are $12, and groups of 20 or more skate for $9 per person. Tickets are available online or at the rink. Though skates are included in the ticket price, individuals are welcome to bring their own skates. Tickets are valid for the entire day. Season passes are also available and Railroad Park is planning several discount ticket days at the rink. Visit railroadpark.org/iceskating for complete information.
