BUSINESSES IN THE BLACK – THE RISE OF BLACK BUSINESS IN AMERICA 1800s – 1960s, is a documentary film produced by ANTHONY BROGDON showing next week in Birmingham. It is a Strong Production Project produced and directed by Anthony Brogdon with Hugh H. Hatten as Director of Photography.  The film shares: how did slaves go to college, what racism did to destroy black business districts, names of black millionaires in the 1800s, businesses and organizations, interviews with people whose families owned businesses in the early 1900s and so much more. SCIENCE FAIR, a National Geographic Documentary in the Dorothy Jemison Day Theater at Alabama School of Fine Arts, on November 14th, doors open at 6 p.m. and film at 7 p.m. There will be a panel discussion with science fair winners to follow the film.  This is a family friendly film.

THIS WEEKEND…COMEDIAN BILL BELLAMY…. Stand-up comedian Bill Bellamy has kept audiences laughing for years with his insightful bits on women, relationships and life experiences. Bill Bellamy’s 2017 and 2018 tours have him visiting comedy clubs from Long Island to California with a variety of other stand-up acts. December 2017’s leg displays his comedic talents at Nyack Levity Live in West Nyack, N.Y., while January takes him Ontario Improv in Ontario, California, Cobb’s Comedy Club in San Francisco, and back into the Rocky Mountains at Denver Improv. February 2017 had him heading back east to Punch Line Philly to share his thoughts on our current political climate, life past 50, and humorous everyday observations about love and life.

TUESDAY…COMEDIAN PAULY SHORE…His latest big screen venture is a satire about his own career decline and (fictional) attempt to revive Hollywood’s interest by faking his suicide. Like his directorial debut, “You’ll Never Wiez in This Town Again,” this film is chock full of celebrity cameos, including Ben Stiller, Britney Spears, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Bill Maher, Charlie Sheen, Tom Sizemore, Ellen DeGeneres and Carrot Top.

WEDNESDAY AND NEXT THURSDAY… COMEDIAN LANCE MONTALTO… Starting in New Orleans with Ellen Degeneres in the Early – ’80s at Clyde’s Comedy Corner he’s never looked back and has toured the world Headlining Comedy Clubs, Colleges, Corporate Events and Cruise Lines. Throughout his career he has worked with Ellen Degeneres, Jerry Seinfeld, Brad Garrett, Steve Harvey, George Wallace, Carrot Top, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Ray Charles, Eddie Money, James Brown, Brenda Lee, Billy Idol, and many more.  As a television writer and a member of The Writer’s Guild of America he was a writer for Steve Harvey and has also written Movie and Television Scripts. As a member of Screen Actors Guild, he has done television commercials for Kodak, GM, and written and sung for national television commercials.
