The 75th Annual McDonald’s Magic City Classic brought nearly 100,000 to Birmingham for pep rallies, parades, tailgate parties, football and a postgame concert. The weekend also attracted a number of celebrities and dignitaries to the city just to enjoy the festivities. Many locals also had the opportunity to join in the fun. There was the annual alumni Pep Rally at the Sheraton Birmingham Ballroom and the Magic City Classic Parade downtown with more than 30 high school bands. Halftime featured the performances by Alabama A&M Marching Maroon and White Band and ASU Mighty Marching Hornets and the postgame concert at Legion Field featured Ludacris.
And what a classic it was. Absolutely spectacular from “Fun Day” on Sun. all throughout the week. Tremendous excitement and entertainment. Kudos to Mayor Bell, the Birmingham City Council, all of the corporate sponsors. and to the entire city of Birmingham. Job WELL done….
