The Birmingham Police Department reports that detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Friday July 31, 2015 at 1547 Bessemer Road.
The victim has been identified as:
Keith Robinson, B/M, 47 YO, of Birmingham, AL
On Friday July 31, 2015 at approximately 10:15 a.m., Officers from the West Precinct
were dispatched to 1547 Bessemer Road on the report of a person being shot. The victim succumbed to the injury sustained by the gunfire and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the BFRS.
Our preliminary investigation of this homicide reveals that the victim and another male were inside of the business at the assault location when a verbal altercation ensued; the verbal altercation continued out into the parking lot before turning into a physical altercation; the physical altercation turned deadly when gunfire erupted; consequently the victim was struck in the upper torso.
Officers took a B/M suspect into custody at the scene, the suspect is currently being interviewed by our Detectives at BPD HQ.
