(BIRMINGHAM, AL) Families are invited to bring their bicycles and helmets to Crestwood Park Saturday, April 11th 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for TEMPO – A Family Fun Festival, presented by Childcare Resources. TEMPO is a free community event featuring cycling activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Headline entertainers The Fettucini Brothers from North Carolina will present a show that is “the perfect mix of clean, original comedy, blended with just the right amount of juggling and variety and then served up with some intelligent interactive fun.” John Scalici, nationally recognized drum circle facilitator, will lead audience members in interactive drumming.This year’s event will also include PNC Grow Up Great – “Learning is All Around Me!” Mobile Learning Adventure,a traveling exhibit that provides an opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn about the importance of earlychildhood education while they engage in fun activities with their children.The first 500 children who arrive at the festival will receive a free bike helmet donated by Cory Watson Cares, and everyone has a chance to win a free bicycle. Two adult bikes and one child’s bike are being donated by Cahaba Cycles. Live entertainment and interactive fitness activities will be offered throughout the day. Other activities include Zumba, classic outdoor games and a children’s bike rodeo. TEMPO activities emphasize fitness and healthy lifestyles for parents and children. Children’s activities and learning games will be provided by area nonprofit organizations who will also update parents and other adults about the many resources available in the Birmingham area.
