PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA VISITS BIRMINGHAM
From Staff Reports
WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama will travel to Alabama today to give a speech about the economy. It’s his second visit to the state this month. The event will be held at Lawson State Community where our Founder, Dr. Jesse J. Lewis, Sr. was a former president. Earlier in March, Obama traveled to Selma, to mark the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday.” Obama led a symbolic march across the bridge where throngs who protected their lack of voting rights were beaten by the police. Obama has visited 48 of the 50 states since becoming president. Still awaiting presidential visits South Dakota and Utah.
