Homicide Investigation 

The Birmingham Police Department reports that detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in the 1500 Block of Pearson Avenue.The identity of the victim will be released upon notification of immediate family.On Tuesday, March 03, 2015 around 845pm, West Precinct officers responded to 801 Princeton Avenue (Baptist Princeton Hospital) on two males shot.  One male suffered a non-life threatening injury and the other male died from his injury at the Hospital.Our preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been in an off and on relationship for several years with one of the witnesses. The witness involved with the victim stated she was riding in a car with a couple of friends and while stopped at a traffic light the victim walked up to the car and started shooting into the car striking the suspect in the shoulder area. The suspect returned fire striking the victim. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
