GEICO 500 Gets the Green Flag on Sunday, May 3

May Race weekend at Talladega Superspeedway to also feature Winn-Dixie 300 XFINITY Series Event on Saturday & Traditional ARCA Race back to Friday

The GEICO 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama, roars back into action May 1-3.
The GEICO 500 will serve as the anchor event of an exciting spring weekend that will also feature the Winn-Dixie 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series race on Saturday, May 2, and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 ARCA event on Friday, May 1.
“GEICO is an incredible partner which continues to show their support of our facility with tremendous activation to promote both the GEICO 500 and Talladega Superspeedway. We can’t wait for the first weekend in May!” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch.
“We are excited to have a great partner like Talladega Superspeedway and the opportunity to sponsor a spectacular race like the GEICO 500,” said Ted Ward, GEICO Vice President. “NASCAR is a great market for our customers and the GEICO 500 attracts over a hundred thousand passionate fans from all across the country who come to take in the action and excitement that the weekend brings.”
Last year’s spring Cup classic at the 2.66-mile venue proved to be a pivotal event in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup as Denny Hamlin claimed the checkered flag and a spot in the title battle in which he finished third. This year’s GEICO 500 will be the 10th event on the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule.
Both the GEICO 500 and the Winn-Dixie 300 will be televised LIVE on FOX and broadcast on MRN Radio, as well as SiriusXM. The GEICO 500 is scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET start on Sunday, May 3 while the Winn-Dixie 300 will take the green flag at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 2.  Tickets are now on sale to the public for all three days of exciting racing action.
