Ms. Julia Hightower celebrated her 100th birthday on October 25, 2014. A celebration of her life was held at Oak Knoll Health & Rehabilitation. Present to help Ms. Hightower celebrate were her children Katherine, Ronnie, Helen, Pauline, Delores, and Dr. Leslie Ray. Ms. Hightower is mother of eight children. She has 16 Grandchildren, 18 Great grandchildren and two Great Great grandchildren.
Pastor J. W. Croom, Jr. was also present, as well as many other family and friends. Ms. Hightower has been a member of First Baptist Church of Graymont for 58 years where she was a member of the Senior Choir and the Mission.
