Divorce rates in the United States continue to rapidly climb to astronomical levels. Most married couples are turning their I do to I don’t. Knowing the situation is dire, Sybil D. Green has made help available in her booklet, Matters of the Heart. Offering time-tested advice, it can be an essential asset when mending the sacred union of matrimony.
By now you are probably pondering, “What makes Sybil D. Green an expert.”  Upon enduring the experience of her own divorce (after twenty years of marriage) she was divinely inspired to write this book. She also witnessed the love her parents shared which lasted until her mother passed, some forty-nine years later. Likewise, Green is now married (happily) and she is a living testament that the methods listed in Matters of the Heart actually work.
Matters of the Heart is based upon biblical doctrine with a number of verses to validate its claim. It also expounds upon a six point system that’s to be used in order to save couples from divorce. Knowing what you want from your mate, groundwork and the need for it, yours, mine and our roles, the home fire and how to keep it burning are just a few of the addressed issues. No topic is left undone as even intimacy and the bedroom are discussed. Also, a certain amount of witticism is incorporated, one referencing how to handle the seven year itch–“don’t scratch.” All this is done in an open dialog that encourages couples to be open and honest with each other.
Sybil D. Green has put on paper some profound wisdom that troubled couples could benefit from. The lyrics in an old song state it best – “If you want to keep me –You better know how to treat me.” Green is a firm believer that this applies to not only men, but women as well.
