Veteran saxophonist and recording artist Dan Moretti has been amazing audiences for 30 plus years. He is a fantastic artist that knows how to make great music. His latest, Live At Chan’s (Roots Groove Records), is a swinging set that is full of surprises. He is joined on stage with the Hammond Boys and luckily for fans when Moretti and The Boys get together, a good time is guaranteed. They are on point!
The atmosphere is smokin’ on Live At Chan. Featuring a tribute to the ’60s jazz, soul and blues era, Moretti and The Boys get the place hopping with “Shuffle Twist” and throw down the ultimate funk on “Free For All”. “Soul Underneath” put Moretti with flute in hand front and center. Likewise, he nailed it head on. Live At Chan’s includes 11 fantastic tracks. The full session is around 60 minutes and Dan Moretti and The Hammond Boys are jumping the entire time. They are some pretty bad cats that slide the G in Groove.
Track listing: Moanin; Shuffle Twist; Da Du Dah; Free For All; Soul Underneath; No 1 Green Street; Twisting The Jug; Ronnies Bonnies; Low Down; Soul Shoutin.
Album Personnel:  Dan Moretti-tenor (soprano sax and flute); Duke Robillard (guitar); Dave Limina (Hammond Organ); Jesse Williams (acoustic and electric bass); Lorne Entress (drums).

New York based guitarist Larry Corban returns with his sophomore album. The Corbanator (Nabroc Records), its title, is a collection of 13 tracks. The Aperturistic Trio joins Corban on this project that consists of 10 Corban originals. Included also are three interpretations, which are “Old Folks” (Dedette Lee Hill), “Blue In Green” (Miles Davis) and “You Stepped Out Of A Dream” (Gus Kahn and Nacio Herb Brown).
In the Corbanator, Larry and the Trio presents a mellow vibe – which is ultimately enjoyable.
Track Listing: Dizzy Affair; The Corbanator, Sea Of Fire; Hidden Reality; Event Horizon; Old Folks; Stacked Coincidences; Two, Two, Three Step; Swamp Ditty; Don’t Lock The Top; Limits Of Inquiry; Blue In Green; You Stepped Out Of A Dream.
Album Personnel:  Larry Corban (guitar).  Aperturistic Trio: James Weidman (piano); Harvie S (bass); Steve Williams (drums).
