COLUMBIA, S.C. – Former Benedict College center Marcus Goode was drafted in the seventh round of the NBA Development League on Saturday.
Goode, a 6-10 center, was selected by the Erie Bayhawks, affiliated with the Orlando Magic, with the first pick in the seventh round. A total of 122 players were selected in Saturday’s draft.
Goode averaged 15.7 points and 10.5 rebounds during the 2012-13 season. He was named to the Daktronics All-South Region Team and the NABC All-District Team. He was named to the South Region All-Tournament Team and an All-American by Boxtorow.
He averaged 18.4 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks during the 2011-12 season. He was named to the Daktronics All-Region Team and was named the SIAC Player of the Year for the second year in a row and an All-American by Boxtorow.
During the 2010-11 season, he led NCAA Division II with 11.8 rebounds per game and was named the SIAC Player of the Year. He helped lead the Tigers to back-to-back SIAC Championships in 2012 and 2013.
