Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) celebrated a significant production milestone on Tuesday, July 29th – The plant’s 2 millionth vehicle rolled offline at the Tuscaloosa County plant. MBUSI leadership joined Team Members from Assembly 2, as well as others from around the organization for a brief ceremony to celebrate the Polar White ML 350 BlueTec, destined to be shipped to an internal customer in Germany.

“We have had a challenging, but rewarding year and we have more excitement ahead of us with the launch of a fifth vehicle coming in 2015,” said Jason Hoff,

President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz U.S. International. “Demand for our vehicles continues to be strong, especially for our SUVs and particularly the MClass. Our expansions over the past few years will allow us to better meet that customer demand. We have a great team and I’m impressed by this organization’s commitment to quality, hard work, diligence and commitment. We have a great future ahead.” MBUSI is the production location for M-Class, GL-Class and R-Class SUVs, as well as the C-Class sedan. In 2013, the plant produced more than 185,000

vehicles. While MBUSI has now launched the all new C-Class, Team Members are already working on a new, dynamic model series that will be built in

Alabama beginning in 2015 as the plant’s fifth product. MBUSI currently employs more 3,100 Team Members.
