(BIRMINGHAM) Baptist Health System (BHS) announced today that Brian Hamilton has been elected to their Board of Trustees, where he will serve a 4-year appointment. BHS is a ministry of the churches of the Birmingham Baptist Association whose representatives elect the Board of Trustees.
“Brian’s faith and experience make him an asset to the Board,” said Mike McLemore, executive director at the Birmingham Baptist Association. “His addition will further strengthen our ability to fulfill our mission of better health for more people, while honoring God and others.”
Hamilton currently serves as chief executive officer of Trillion Communications Corp., a national tier-one supplier of Telco infrastructure products and services to the connectivity industry. Trillion’s major customers include AT&T, Verizon, Frontier Communications and Cox Communications. Hamilton joined Trillion in 2011 as president of its Telco division and chief operating officer of the corporation. He was subsequently elected to Trillion’s board of directors at the corporation’s annual meeting the following year. Prior to joining Trillion, Hamilton served in a variety of roles for AG Gaston Enterprises including chief executive officer of AG Gaston Engineering and managing director of AG Gaston Construction.
“Brian is an excellent addition to the Baptist Board of Trustees,” said John Holcomb, III, chairman of the Board of Trustees. “His faith, business background and involvement in the Birmingham community bring added expertise and knowledge to the Board.”
Hamilton received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology as well as a Bachelor of Science in general science from Morehouse College. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Birmingham School of Law.
“I’m happy and humbled to join the Baptist team as we carry out our mission of faith-based care for our communities during a time when our nation’s health care system is experiencing unprecedented change,” said Hamilton.
Hamilton’s community activities include membership in the 2009 class of Leadership Birmingham; former chairman of the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority; and Planning Commissioner for both Jefferson County and the City of Birmingham. Hamilton currently serves as a Trustee for the University of Montevallo.
