A Palm Sunday Worship in song, “Alabaster Box”, at Holy Light Church was filled with love and praises to Jesus, the Lamb of God. The service featured local pastors’ daughters who were born to sing and for the Lord. Kristen D. Parks, daughter of Rev. Phillip Parks; Ashley Sankey, daughter of Rev. William Sankey, Jr.; The Fisher Sisters, Jacqueline F. Gilchrist, Dinah E. Fisher, Lydia F. Lockhart, Cheryl F. Solomon and Alisha M. Pritchett, daughters and granddaughter of the late Rev. L. C. Fisher, Sr. and Dana C. “Lady Woo” Woodruff, daughter of Rev. Larry B. Woodruff blessed the air and the congregation with their anointed voices.
Worship began with Holy Light’s Music Ministry singing, an original “This Holy Light of Mine,” and “Every Praise,” led by Pastor Woodruff. Lady Angeline Clark Woodruff of Holy Light Church, daughter of the late Rev. Harold E. Clark served as Worship Leader. Jeanette Hart of HLC welcomed the worshippers. The prayer was given by Deborah Crenshaw Japal of Broadstreet Baptist Church, daughter of the late Rev. Solomon Crenshaw, Sr. and Scripture Reading by Bre’Ana G. Robinson, daughter of Rev. George Robinson, Sr. of First Baptist Church, East Thomas. Mary Alexander Brooks, First Lady, Lily Baptist Church blessed God’s name with a powerful message from Mark 14. The talented singers praised and glorified GOD with Zion songs. Kristen ministered with “Even Me” and “I Won’t Complain,” Ashley offered “Alpha and Omega” and “He Keeps Doing Great Things For Me,” Dana gave, “God Has Smiled On Me” and “You Are Holy” and The Fisher Sisters sang “Every Knee Shall Bow” and “I Love The Lord.” The singers were accompanied by gifted musicians, Reggie Yarbrough on keyboard and organ, Lydia F. Lockhart on organ and Pastor Woodruff on percussions.
The finale was a powerful and moving rendition of “Alabaster Box,” with Kristen D. Parks, Dinah E. Fisher and Dana C. Woodruff sharing the lead.
Holy Light Church is “called to do His will with joy and peace throughout the world, their walk is one of faith, hope and love for God and one another.” The church is located at 630 Ishkooda Road at the Birmingham-Easonian Baptist Bible College in Birmingham, Ala.
