Denied A Resolution relative to the application of Aliza LLC for the transfer of a Lounge Retail Liquor Class II License to be used at Airport Package Store, 4010 Messer Airport Highway Suite A, Birmingham, and the hearing of all interested parties. 1. Approved a Resolution relative to the application of Pappas Restaurant, Inc. for a Restaurant Retail Liquor License to be used at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, 3500 Grandview Parkway, Birmingham, and the hearing of all interested parties. 2. Approved an Ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of Birmingham, Alabama (1) to submit an application and to accept the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $308,730.00 from the United States Department of Justice awarded to the City of Birmingham, Alabama for use by the Birmingham Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and (2) to execute an Interlocal Agreement with Jefferson County for administration of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant which authorizes the City to retain the City’s share of the Grant, in the amount of $206,024.00, which funds will be used for its law enforcement and technology improvement programs and to disburse the remaining share of $102,706.00 to the Sheriff. 3. Approved a Resolution approving the agreement with A.G. Gaston Construction Company, Inc., Birmingham, in an amount not to exceed $57,500.00, to provide surveying and engineering services for access improvements to Phase II – Pratt City CDBG Complete Streets Project and authorizing the Mayor to execute the agreement on behalf of the City. 4. Approved a Resolution approving an agreement with YWCA Central Alabama Foundation, Birmingham, for fiscal year ending June 30, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $36,000.00/yr, renewable annually subject to funds availability for a term not to exceed five (5) years, to provide court advocacy services for victims of domestic violence in the City of Birmingham Municipal Courts, and authorizing the Mayor to execute the agreement on behalf of the City. 5. Moved to Budget and Finance Committee Meeting a Resolution determining that the Alabama International Fashion Week (ABI), to be held July 31-August 3, 2014 at the Sheraton, serves a public purpose that promotes goodwill and serves a public interest, and requesting that City funds be administered to pay for this event in accordance with Section 3-1-7 of the General Code of the City of Birmingham.
