HUEYTOWN, Ala. – “Our pastor, Brother Johnny M. Williams, Sr., shared with us the attack that was headed our way because of the Tent Revival. He shared with us that Satan would be attacking in an effort to stop the Tent Revival planned for April 8th – April 11th, at Living Faith Baptist Cathedral in Hueytown, Ala.,” exclaimed, First Lady Williams (Pastor’s wife). Brother Williams suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of the night during his sleep. But God resurrected him and saved him from the angel of death.
“Never did we imagine that we would be serving without his physical input. But, even though his body was attacked, his heart still beats for evangelism and soul winning”, said First Lady Ruth Williams, wife of Pastor Johnny Williams, Sr. Dr. Ruth Williams noticed that her husband was not responding to her when she was awakened sporadically during the night. In a few days, the doctors at the hospital called the family together because Pastor Williams was on a life support system (Ventilator) after being rushed to the hospital in the early morning hours from his Hueytown home. They were contemplating pulling the plug because of health concerns. The Saints of God began praying profusely for Pastor Williams. Inevitably, God stepped in and the doctors began to apologize as God began the healing process for Bro. Williams. The doctors later stated that because of the lack of oxygen to the brain that Bro.Williams could be brain dead. After recovering from a coma and minimizing the sedations, the medical teams were patient to see exactly the status of Brother Williams. Prayer warriors from all over the country and right here in Bessemer, Alabama began to pray the prayers of faith for their beloved brother’s healing and recovery.
After Brother Williams was taken off the ventilator machine and a trachea tube (voice box) was implemented, he was able to speak. Brother Williams was asked by his Associate Minister, Brother Takia Hudson, “have you been praying?” Brother Williams said, “I have been praying everyday.” He also stated, “Out of all I have been through, I am blessed.” Brother Williams then proceeded that day to sing his favorite song, “Father I stretch My Hands to Thee.” Many believers’ faith has been impacted by this miraculous turn around and now truly understand that the healing power of God is still present.
Dr. Barry Cosper, Director of Missions for the Bessemer Baptist Association, stated, “God has answered our prayers for this man of God and we the believers are truly grateful.” Brother Williams continues his recovery one day at a time giving constant praises to God the Father for saving him to stay on the battlefield for God and win souls for the Kingdom of Heaven. Brother Williams very humbly stated, “I am still learning at the feet of Jesus but I have no doubt about His love for me.” Dr. Williams continues to improve each and every day. He joins the ranks of many others who live as witnesses to God’s grace, mercy, love, and resurrecting power.
