The 2014 Miss Alabama Plus America Pageant recently crowned the winners of the Royal Court who will represent the state of Alabama at the National Miss Plus America Pageant July 1-5, in Atlanta, Ga. The 2014 Miss Alabama Plus America Pageant was held at the BJCC in Birmingham under the direction of Executive Director Phillip Bailey and Co-Director Vilmer Marcella Meyer. Alabama Governor Robert J. Bentley sent proclamations and congratulations to all three winners.
Ms. Alabama Plus America 2014, Sharmiah Woods from Tuscaloosa, is currently attending nursing school and works with volunteer services at the Tuscaloosa Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center. Mrs. Alabama Plus America 2014, Shartwaina A. Lester from Birmingham, is CEO of Sisters in TEAL helping women who have PCOS while also working as a tax consultant. Miss Alabama Plus America 2014, Tiara Turner from Birmingham, is a Minister and is also a Junior Board Member for the Sickle-Cell Anemia Foundation and heads up Operation Feed Birmingham.
