The Southwestern Athletic Conference named Alabama State’s senior outfielder Meagan Dixon to the preseason First Team All-SWAC on Thursday.
Meagan Dixon, a Canyon Springs, Calif. native completed her season with a .396 batting average, while hitting 59 of 149 over the season. She recorded 13 doubles and five triples, including five homeruns. The then junior collected 35 RBIs and had a .651 slugging percentage.
Also selected for preseason honors was sophomore Makayla Webster who was named second team first baseman. The Lady Hornets were predicted to finish third as they received 47 votes.
The Lady Hornets will begin their season February 7-9, when they travel to Hammond, La. to compete in the Southeastern Louisiana Tournament. First game will be against Missouri-Kansas City first pitch is set for 12:30 p.m.
