Hip-hop artist and Birmingham native, JABO visited his high school alma mater, Wenonah High School, yesterday to share positive words of encouragement about staying in school and striving for greatness, with the students in the classrooms of some of his favorite teachers. JABO a/k/a Javan Ishman is a graduate of Wenonah and has made it a point to go back to Wenonah from time to time to keep the lines of communication strong. He explains, “No matter where I am, I always make time in my schedule to come and visit. It’s important for kids to see and hear people from their hometown who are just like them and relate.” After graduating from Wenonah, Ishman went on to Alabama State University and graduated with a degree in Business.
