On December 7, 2012, Mr. Steward was fatally shot to death when he had words with some men at Hoods’ Qwik Mart on Dugan Avenue, in Birmingham. Mr. Stewart got back into the car to leave, when one of the men stepped in front of the car and shot into the car.
