Members of the Birmingham Crime Reduction Team received a call from New York Law Enforcement about a wanted fugitive Chauncey King, b/m, 31. The caller stated that King was in Birmingham and wanted for 2 counts of Robbery 1st degree. After days of investigating Detectives learned that the defendant may be staying at a residence in Bessemer.
Assisted by Bessemer PD and a CI, detectives went to the location and made entry into the residence. After entry officers found several indicators that the fugitive was in fact staying there. Detectives then canvased the area and found another address where the defendant was staying. Detectives then went to that location and found the defendant hiding.
Arrested in the 700 block of 24th Street South.
Charges: FFJ from New York on two counts Robbery First Degree
Held: Jefferson County Jail awaiting extradition
