Refuge In (RITT) Trouble Times Community Development, Inc., case of twins, Mikylah and Jamyilah Mays, age 3 months, were beaten and suffered from blount force trauma to their heads and bodies on the morning of May 24, 2007 at 6725 1st Avenue So., in Birmingham, around 6:30 am. The twins’ father, Michael May Jr., woke up to find Mikylah barely responding. He woke their mother, Joycelyn Smith; they rushed the twins to UAB Hospital, Mikylah died and Jamyilah survived. The parents were questioned by the police and released.
