MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State University’s Myla Marshall has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.
The sophomore from Memphis, Tenn., helped ASU to a 2-1 record on the week with 12 total blocks during the three games. She had two solo blocks and 10 block assists. She tied her career high with seven block assists in the Lady Hornets’ win over Mississippi Valley State.
Marshall was also solid as an offensive player during the week, recorded 17 kills in 36 total attacks. She finished the week hitting .333.
On the season Marshall is second on the team and sixth in the conference with 41 total blocks. She is also second on the team and second in the conference in hitting percentage at .269.
