BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — As a part of its ongoing support of breast cancer research, Belk, Inc. will host its eighth annual Private Shopping Night to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA). In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, shoppers can have VIP after-hours access on Sunday, October 13, from 6:30 until 9p.m., at Belk at The Summit. Belk has provided longstanding support of breast cancer research, with contributions totaling over $270,000 since 2006, including annual grant funding and proceeds of the Private Shopping Night. Just this week, the BCRFA received a $25,000 research grant from Belk, which helps scientists at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center develop life-saving treatments and therapies.
“The BCRFA and its Board of Directors are elated to once again be part of this fabulous opportunity provided by Belk,” said Carol Sue Nelson, BCRFA President. “This has become a ‘can’t miss’ event for our supporters and Belk fans because after-hours private shopping is a VIP experience, but is especially festive when serenaded by live music from Goodfellas, and treated to incredible food by Kathy G & Company. Village Tavern provides complimentary stylish ‘Hopetinis,’ and other guest favorites compliments of United Johnson Brothers, Coca-Cola Bottling Company and ALABev.”
Tickets are just $25 and can be pre-ordered online at www.pinkprivateshoppingnight.com or by calling 205-996-5463. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the event. All ticket sale proceeds stay in Birmingham and benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama.
