The Constitution was made Rugged by earlier Americans and to keep it Rugged is one of our First Responsibilities
The 14th Amendment provides the definition of Citizenship over ruling Dred Scott vs Sanford (1857). The Amendment requires States to provide equal protection under the Law to all people within their jurisdiction and was used in the Mid 20th Century to dismantle racial segregation in the United States as in Brown vs Board of Education (1954).
This section was also in response to the (Black Codas) which Southern States had passed in the wake of the 13th Amendment which ended Slavery in the United States or should, those Laws attempted to restore Free Slaves to something like their former condition restricting their movement and by preventing them from serving or testifying in court.
